Obamania
Alles schaut gespannt über den großen Teich.
Hier wie dort hoffen Millionen auf den "Change".
Ich möchte mich als Prophet versuchen:
1. Obama wird Präsident. Knapp, aber doch.
2. Obama wird so gut wie alle Hoffnungen, die in ihn gesetzt werden, enttäuschen.
Wenn wir Obama mit österreichischen Politiker/innen vergleichen, dann stellen ihn viele vermutlich neben Bruno Kreisky und hoffen, dass er so wie dieser in den 70er-Jahren eine Reformlawine auslöst.
Ich denke wir müssen ihn eher neben Hans-Peter Martin oder Fritz Dinkhauser stellen. Meiner Einschätzung nach ist er ein vollkommen überschätzter Schwätzer.
Auch hierzulande vielbeachtet ist die Obama-Website bzw. sind die vielen Websites in der Obama-Campain.
Wer ein wenig hinter diese Happy-Pepi-Kulissen schaut, kommt zu anderen Schlussfolgerungen:
* Obama wird keinen Krieg beenden (können).
* Obama wird den Polizeistaat ("Krieg gegen den Terror") nicht zurückfahren (können).
* Obama wird die Todesstrafe nicht abschaffen (können).
* Obama wird nichts oder nur wenig, jedenfalls zu wenig, gegen den Klimawandel tun (können).
* Obama wir die USA weder sozialer, noch demokratischer, noch gebildeter, noch gerechter, noch ökologischer, noch friedfertiger machen.
Nur seine Show wird - noch eine Zeit lang - besser sein.
Mehr wird das US-System nicht zulassen. Mehr kann bei diesem undemokratischen Politiksystem nicht aufkommen. Z.B. wegen des antiquierten Mehrheitswahlrechts (in dem manchmal ja sogar die konservative Minderheit den Präsidenten bestimmt).
Warum bin ich so pessimistisch? Und: Was ist die Alternative?

Das erinnert mich an die 15% von Sascha VdB.
Und der Zweckoptimismus geht noch weiter:
"And with that 5%, we can pull up another chair at the table of public policy making."
Naja! Vielleicht das nächste mal. Wenn alle gesehen haben, dass Obama auch nur mit Wasser kocht.
